Zizi Biantoko is a Kikongo phrase that translates to 'Beautyful Faces'. The face is the heart or core expression of a person, place or a thing. It is the window into its essence: the face of the mountain, the face of the stream, the face of an elder, the face of justice. This is what a photographer seeks to uncover. For me, photography is a vehicle in the search for home, in the search for stories that will inspire Afrikan people wherever WE are and help us to rediscover our way home.

Wow! For months since I found out that I was Akan, I have looked for people that look like myself and my family. The little boy to the right of the picture looks EXACTLY like me when I was small, my brother, my son and my daughter. I have got to go there!
